The LF100 Ethernet RFID reader communicates with passive transponders on an LF frequency of 134.2 kHz. The device is particularly suitable for applications that require long reading ranges.
Depending on the type of transponder used and the ambient conditions the LF100 Ethernet RFID reader realizes read ranges of up to 100 cm I 39.4 in.
The housing of the device is made of sturdy plastic with protection class IP54 (protected against dust and splashing water) that is particularly suitable for use in rugged production environments. The cables are fed in through a new take-apart flange. Consequently, it is also possible to connect up cables with preassembled connectors.
Captured data is sent via the Ethernet interface (10/100 BaseT). A software upgrade can also be implemented via this interface. Configuration of the Ethernet interface, e.g. IP address, can be performed very easily via a web browser.
Configuration of the RF system is conducted using a membrane keypad that is operated when the device cover is open. It is used to tune the antenna required for operation, test the read/write functions of the system, and switch the RFID device to a test mode if necessary.
The LF LongRange RFID system is completed with a rod antenna that is available with a cable length of up to 8 meters.
